TheKnot.com and Weddings.com Go Live with Pluck
The Knot has re-launched the community portions of theknot.com and weddings.com using Pluck Products. TheKnot.com and Weddings.com are two of the largest and most recognizable names in the wonderful world of weddings and wedding preparation. Previously, The Knot Inc. had been live with their WeddingChannel.com forums using Pluck functionality. Yesterday’s launch has moved 3 of their 5 largest properties from a homegrown in house forums solution to Pluck’s integrated technology.
Pluck features include: - Forums: A highly customized (through CSS and server enhancements) Pluck SiteLife widget. - Recent Discussions: Periodic listings of the recent discussions based on current categories. - Expanded Sorting Functionality: Discussions can be sorted oldest/newest and by discussion creation date - Integrated Implementation Methods: The Knot uses a REST widget implementation for SEO purposes while loading information obtained via server to server DAAPI on the same page to enhance page load time and allow distinct customization. - Portfolio Sub-domain Expansion: Their Weddings.com domain consists of hundreds of weddings boards for each of their different cities (Chicago.weddings.com, newyorkcity.weddings.com)
- More to come: The next big steps for The Knot are to continue with their Pluck Forums implementation on TheNest.com and TheBump.com
You can see the communities at: - TheKnot.com: http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/community/default.aspx - Weddings.com: http://chicago.weddings.com/main.aspx/local-wedding-boards_illinois-chicago
