Pluck Corporation Announces SiteLife Photos
Three Top Newspapers License for User and Editor Managed Galleries
AUSTIN, Texas — May 8, 2006 — Pluck™ Corporation, a social media technology pioneer, today announced the addition of SiteLife Photos to its suite of services. The company also previewed that three major US newspaper web properties licensed, and are in the process of deploying, SiteLife Photos.
Pluck SiteLife provides an integrated platform that enables online publishers to provide user-generated content, community, personalization and social networking — all embedded within their site structure and brand experience. Previously announced Pluck products include SiteLife Reactions (for user comments, ratings, reviews, and submissions) and SiteLife Blogs (for community blog publishing).
SiteLife Photos enables users to upload and display their favorite pictures while editors can quickly and easily control presentation and promotion. With SiteLife Photos, portals and publishers benefit from increased registrations, viral traffic, page views and time on site.
All SiteLife activities, experiences and users are managed and tracked via a single Editorial Console, ensuring the seamless promotion of the best contributions and users as well as the removal of inappropriate content. SiteLife-powered contributions are also aggregated and presented in customizable user Personas, providing individuals with pages for personal expression and social networking.
"Pluck's goal is to empower media firms to offer world class user tools and experiences," said Dave Panos, Pluck CEO & Co-Founder. "SiteLife Photos capabilities have been highly requested from our customers and represent a natural extension of our integrated suite."
Key SiteLife Photos features include:
- User and Editor Managed Galleries: SiteLife's framework allows users to submit photos to an editorially created gallery or add photos to a personal gallery.
- Multiple Upload Options: Users can add photos via mobile devices, email or directly from a web site using single and multi-photo upload functions.
- Advanced File Handling: SiteLife Photos automatically scans and proportionately resizes uploaded photos to avoid problem files and to adhere to publisher-specific layout constraints.
- Rich Photo and Gallery Meta Data: Photos and galleries can contain titles, captions, tags/keywords, location, time/date, photographer, equipment and other descriptive components.
- Multiple Browsing Options: Users can view photos via topical galleries, interactive slideshows, thumbnail collections and in Personas.
- Comments/Ratings/Sharing: Users can send descriptive feedback, recommend or rate photos/galleries, email photos to friends and save photos to their site Personas via a scrapbook feature.
- Componentized Deployment Model: Pluck hosted SiteLife Photos widgets (called up via a rich API library) are easily embedded into web sites. All Pluck services live under the brand, look & feel and URL structure of the core site.
