Additional Magazines and Newspapers Join the BlogBurst Blog Syndication Network

Service Provides Opportunity for Blogs to Showcase Content to Millions of Readers through 12 Major Publisher Sites; More than 1,500 Bloggers Now Contributing to BlogBurst

NEW YORK — May 16, 2006 — (IDG Syndicate Conference) Pluck™ Corporation, a social media technology pioneer, today announced that several more publishers have joined the BlogBurst blog syndication network, including Parade.com, The Arizona Republic, Des Moines Register, San Jose Mercury News and Lee Enterprises, owner of 58 daily newspapers. In addition to these new publishers joining the service, eight news and community web sites are now actively publishing syndicated blog content from BlogBurst. The BlogBurst service began syndicating content from leading blogs around the world on May 2 and is the first service designed to improve audiences for publishers and bloggers by delivering high-quality blog content to the industry's leading newspaper and magazine web sites.

"The convergence of new and old media sometimes feels like a maze, where getting to the goal is not always as obvious as we'd like," said Jim Debth, general manager of the Austin American Statesman's Austin360.com and Statesman.com web sites. "Pluck's BlogBurst service has helped us round out our strategy for incorporating perspectives from bloggers. The network of citizen journalists that Pluck has assembled is being incorporated into various sections of our Web sites in a streamlined way. BlogBurst is a nice complement to our existing use of editorial and reader blogs, and it lets us offer our visitors expanded point of views on a variety of topics including Golf, The University of Texas Longhorns, Gardening, Fashion, Home Décor, Travel and Music."

Currently eight news sites are publishing syndicated blog content through BlogBurst. Mainstream media sites can choose from more than 1,500 blogs currently contributing content to the BlogBurst network. High quality bloggers providing content through BlogBurst include recent Webby Award winners, "5 Blogs Before Lunch" and "Grist Magazine." Examples of some of the blogs that have already been syndicating through BlogBurst publisher member sites include:

"Even though the BlogBurst syndication service is still in beta and has only operated for a couple weeks, I have already seen the number of visitors to my blog increase by as much as 15 percent," said Peter Bean of Burnt Orange Nation. "I look forward to seeing how the service expands my readership into more traditional media venues as more publishers begin syndicating content on their sites. This partnership has as much potential for mutual success as anything I've seen."

"In just a few weeks, we've seen publishers and their readers begin to use and explore the blog content we're now syndicating to traditional media web sites," said Dave Panos, CEO of Pluck. "Although we're still in the early stages of our syndication efforts, we're happy to see the positive results many of our blogger members have experienced in such a short period of time. One of the most satisfying outcomes has been BlogBurst's ability to introduce our bloggers to readers who were largely unaware of blogs and the outstanding content they can provide."
