Pluck Releases SiteLife Version 3.1 of Industry-Leading Social Media Platform

New Version Powering More Than 1 Billion Monthly Interactions for Hundreds of Leading Publishers, Brands and Retailers

AUSTIN, Texas – February 1, 2008 Pluck™ Corporation today announced the launch of SiteLife 3.1, the latest version of the company’s fully-hosted and managed technology platform for adding social media capabilities to any website. New features available in the latest version include support for multiple communities, multi-author blogs and groups as well as user-generated video. SiteLife offers a comprehensive set of user participation and social networking capabilities via hosted widgets and is broadly deployed by a large and growing number of online leaders, including The Washington Post, Circuit City, USA TODAY, Condé Nast, Reuters, and Better Homes and Gardens, and many more.

SiteLife enables online properties to engage site visitors with a complete range of social media capabilities including user comments, ratings, recommendations, reviews, photo and video sharing, forums and blogs. SiteLife’s easy-to-deploy widgets make it a simple integration effort and offer virtually limitless growth and customization options as customers’ social media needs evolve over time. SiteLife also includes a robust set of platform-level APIs that allow customers to easily tailor social media experiences to the needs of their distinct audiences. While simple to integrate and configure, SiteLife’s superior infrastructure is built to serve the needs of the most demanding online destinations and is already live on hundreds of sites, serving more than 1 billion interactions each month.

“With this latest version of our standard-bearing platform, we have made the integration of social media an even more powerful and practical undertaking” said Dave Panos, CEO of Pluck. “As social media has become a prerequisite for online growth and leadership, SiteLife 3.1 gives the world’s leading publishers, brands and retailers unequalled ability to develop and expand community on their sites.”

New capabilities available in SiteLife 3.1 include:

  • SiteLife Portfolio – Enables deployment of multiple communities on a single SiteLife instance. Shares community content, users and management authority across deployed sites.

  • SiteLife Videos – Offers fully-hosted user video submission, playback and moderation. This includes adapter and migration capabilities for leveraging existing video publishing systems.

  • Groups Support – Provides a complete membership, invitation and “badging” capability for community topics published via SiteLife Forums.

  • Platform Level APIs – Powerful developer interfaces for building custom widgets, search and community content download.

  • Multi-Author Blogs – Offers alternate blog models to support open community publishing, defined group publishing and personal/staff blogs. Includes the ability to migrate posts and comments from common legacy blog publishing platforms.

  • Persona Enhancements – Extends the capability of SiteLife Personas dynamic member profiles with additional privacy controls, integrated user alerts, and improved presentation flexibility

SiteLife 3.1 is generally available and can be deployed in as few as two weeks. The service comes complete with a Single Sign-On capability for integrating customers’ existing registration systems and a powerful Community Management Workbench for managing content and members in real time. In addition, Pluck’s Professional Services team is equipped to provide a range of capabilities for implementing SiteLife 3.1 as well as training, best practices and community moderation.
