Pluck Collections

Vibrant communities are rich with highlights, cross-references, interesting discoveries and more. Pluck Collections is a set of out-of-the-box widgets that can be displayed in Web, mobile, Facebook and other page templates. Populated by the Pluck Recommendation, Participation and Reputation Engines with content that can cross Pluck Applications, Pluck Collections represents system- and user-curated “best of” groupings of interesting and linked items.

There are myriad places to display Pluck Collections, including on home pages, section fronts, category pages, and product templates. Often, brands will include Pluck Collections in their social channels and micro-sites to help drive audience to a primary owned media destination.

One of the most productive uses of Pluck Collections is on top-level Community Pages. Mixed with other social elements, and clearly designated as navigation to high-value community content, Pluck Collections can provide a powerful anchor to these community gateways.

Pluck Collections can be managed in Pluck's Workbenches and other tools. They are architected for rapid, predictable, consistent displays.

There are three families of Pluck Collections:

Promotion Collections. This family of Pluck Collections reflects the principle that your customers are often the best guides to what’s good. Promotion Collections work with Pluck Applications like Reviews and Comments to drive community members and visitors to what is by consensus the “Most” or “Highest” content, filtered by a variety of criteria (e.g., Highest Rated Products by category).

Direction Collections. These Pluck Collections implicitly acknowledge that sometimes your customers know exactly what they want. Giving them rapid access to community content via search Results, and highlighting interesting Contributions by Most Recent, help your mavens and advocates to quickly navigate your digital offerings.

Information Collections. Communities are rich sources of potential connections. These Pluck Connections, widgets that surface Presence, Leaders and Lists, empower your community members to find other people and the things they care about.
