Pluck Engines
Every great product or experience invariably is powered by interoperating world-class components "under the hood". Pluck Engines are the collection of powerful Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) assets that drive every pre-built and custom Pluck community experience.
The ten Pluck Engines represent five years and hundreds of thousands of product development hours. They are built to do more, in more ways, faster and more reliably, than any community product on market.
Proven through more than 500 customer community deployments on some of the largest and most vibrant digital properties – NFL, AARP, USA Today, and Target, among others – Pluck Engines consistently beat uptime expectations, deliver call responses in milliseconds, and handle thousands of transactions per second (TPS) for single customers – all without missing a beat. For more information how these Engines are built, please visit our Technology section.
Pluck Engines are clustered in logical functional families. All are accessible through the Pluck API, both directly via our six SDKs and through Pluck Applications and Collections. And Pluck Engines are controlled and coordinated via a unique, customer-managed set of single-tenant environments and processes, including the Pluck Workbenches.
Through the Pluck Engines your team has access to more than 428 Social Components, which are the objects and actions that power social media experiences. With this unparalleled collection of community building blocks you can create ground-breaking and unique community experiences without having to develop or cobble together core platform elements.
The three families of Pluck Engines are:
Discovery Engines. Critical to Pluck is the presentation of timely, relevant information. The Participation Engine highlights online community member presence. The Recommendation Engine captures and serves recent and scored items. The Reputation Engine manages points, badges, rewards and more.
Exchange Engines. Much of Pluck's power comes from its support for personalized, targeted communication. The Relation Engine authorizes following and friendship management within Pluck services. The Notification Engine manages email and other updates. The Connection Engine makes it easy for community members to bind their accounts from Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The Syndication Engine manages how content is delivered to, and shared with, third-party services.
Management Engines. The Pluck integrated community platform is designed with an understanding of the many points of control a well-run community requires and of the many Roles – community members to moderators – that may wield controls. The Identification Engine manages single sign-on authentication against social, proprietary and Pluck services. The Localization Engine enables one instance of the Pluck platform to serve multiple language experiences simultaneously. The Moderation Engine handles key features like tiers, blocks, filters, routing, listening and more.
Inherent to all of these Engines are Technology capabilities for Presentation, Processing, Data and Performance.
