One of my favorite parts about the Internet is that it has the capacity to bring the whole world together.  It isn't an accident that "the web" is formally the World Wide Web.  If I want to read a blog post from someone in Argentina, or check the local weather forecast in Sudan, or participate in an on-line forum with friends in Kiev, all I need to do is go on-line.  How small the Internet has made the world!
 
But that view is overly simple, and for the Internet as we know it, naïve.
